How to Set Up Facebook Business Accounts

Steps to create a Facebook Business Account, Business Page, and Ad Account.

Step 1: Create a Facebook Business Manager Account

You need to create a Business Manager account to manage your business assets (like ad accounts, pages, and team permissions).

  1. Go to Facebook Business Manager
    • Open this link: Business Manager.
  2. Click "Create Account"
    • Log in using your personal Facebook account.
    • Click Create Account.
    • Fill in your Business Name, Your Name, and Work Email.
  3. Submit Details
    • Click Next and enter additional business information (address, website, etc.).
    • Click Submit.

Step 2: Create a Facebook Business Page

After setting up your Business Manager account, you’ll create or claim a Business Page.

  1. Go to Business Settings
    • In Business Manager, click "Business Settings" from the sidebar.
  2. Navigate to Pages
    • On the left menu, click "Accounts" > "Pages".
  3. Create New Page
    • Click the blue "Add" button and choose "Create a New Page".
    • Fill out the details:
      • Page Name (your business name — A&R Roofing)
      • Category (describes your business, e.g., “Roofing Services” or similar)
      • Address and Contact Information (like business address, phone number, and hours).
  4. Add Images
    • Upload a Profile Picture (typically your logo).
    • Upload a Cover Photo (a branded banner or promotional image).
  5. Customize Your Page
    • Add About details (business description, website, etc.).
    • Click the "Edit Page Info" option to update your contact info.
  6. Save and Publish
    • After filling out the necessary details, click Publish to make your page live.
    • If you want to adjust any of the business information you just added, you can after the page is published, it’s not final by any means.

Step 3: Create a Business Ad Account (Not Personal Account)

After setting up your Business Manager, create an ad account for your company.

  1. Go to Business Settings
    • Inside Business Manager, click "Business Settings" in the sidebar.
  2. Navigate to Ad Accounts
    • In the left menu, click "Accounts" > "Ad Accounts".
  3. Create New Ad Account
    • Click the blue "Add" button and select "Create a New Ad Account".
    • Enter your Ad Account Name (company-related name), Time Zone, and Currency.
  4. Assign People and Permissions
    • Assign your personal profile to the ad account with Admin Access.
    • Optionally, add other team members if needed.
  5. Submit
    • Click Create and Done.

Step 4: Link Your Business Page to the Ad Account

  1. Open Business Settings
    • In Business Manager, click Business Settings.
  2. Navigate to Pages
    • In the left menu, click "Accounts" > "Pages".
  3. Add Your Business Page
    • Click the blue "Add" button and select "Add a Page".
    • Search and select the Facebook Page you created earlier.

Step 5: Payment Setup for Ads

  1. Go to Payment Settings
    • In Business Manager, navigate to "Business Settings" > "Payment Methods".
  2. Add Payment Method
    • Add a credit/debit card or PayPal as your payment method.

This step-by-step approach ensures the company ad account is not mistakenly set up as a personal one and all assets are properly managed through Business Manager.
